4 Dead, As Helicopter Crashes Into Lagos Lagoon

An helicopter belonging to Bristow has crashed into a lagoon in Oworonshoki area of Lagos around 3.40 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015.

National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Spokesman (South West), Ibrahim Farinloye, who confirmed the incident said emergency responders who rushed to the scene of the accident recovered three bodies while three injured persons had been rushed to hospital different hospital in Lagos.

One of the injured later died in the hospital , it was learnt.

He said his agency has not received any distress alert from chopper on its mission control centre.

However, he said NEMA got a distress alert about a ship in Warri, Delta State.

“We have maritime distress alert only about a ship around Warri in Delta State. Rescue agencies are on their way to the scene,” he said.
