Slain Building Material’s Family Cries out for Justice.

The family members of a slain business man, Yusuf Elegushi have cried out to the police to intervene and fish out his killers.

He was allegedly murdered in a gruesome manner some hoodlums.

His father, Chief Muritala Adedoyin Elegushi is appealing to the State governor Akinwunmi Ambode and Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni to urgently fish out the killers and bring them to justice.

, Chief Elegushi alleged that ,the deceased 26 year old ,chairman of Building Materials Suppliers, Alaguntan village chapter ,Ajah Lagos, was shot dead last Thursday, at about 7.30pm by a notorious gangster identified simply as Lawal.

He claimed that his son was hit at the chest by a bullet shot by Lawal, while trying to rescue a victim that had earlier been shot by the same Lawal, who is now at large, which resulted in his death.

While the assailants took to their heels, the distraught Lagos high chief said his son was rushed to the Yaba General hospital where he was confirmed dead.

According to Elegushi, a disagreement had occurred between a gang led by Lawal and a man simply identified as Dodo two days earlier over the sum of N 3,000.00, in which Lawal sustained an injury on his jaw.

As a result, Elegushi added that the Lawal gang had mobilized in large number on the day of the sad incident at Alaguntan building site to revenge the assault meted on Lawal by Dodo, which eventually resulted in the death of his son.

“As the hoodlums emerged from nowhere, Lawal was said to have brought his pistol and shot at one of the boys at the site, thinking it was Dodo and they ran into hidden. My son who knew nothing about the incident who just walked innocently to safe the man was also shot by the same Lawal. My son was confirm dead on arrival at the hospital”, he narrated.

He said the matter was reported at Ogombo Police Station, where three members of the gang were arrested and the matter transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti.

Elegushi, who described his son as a quiet and easy going person, said the late father of two kids, had made arrangement on how to mark his 26th birthday anniversary next month.

He said the family had petition both the state governor and the commissioner of police for them to search for the killer and bring him to justice.

The father of the deceased maintained that this is not the first time that the Lawal group would engage in such gruesome murder of innocent souls in the area, adding that such matters had always been swept under the carpet by the police.

He accused the Lawal gang as being one of the numerous killer gangs in Alaguntan village, Ikota, Olukotun, Gedegede, Moba, Isakaba and Mabro estate, commonly used by land grabbers and politicians.

Claiming that the bandits were always released almost immediately when being arrested on similar incidents in the past at the instant of their political godfathers, Elegushi vowed that every legal means will be taken by the family to ensure that justice prevails to deter further occurrence.

Efforts to confirm the incident from the police public relations officer, Dolapo Badmus proved abortive as calls put across to   her mobile phone were not responded.
