Ibru: DESOPADEC Boss Commiserates With Delta

Williams Makinde, Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), has expressed sadness at the passing away of first civilian governor of Delta State, Olorogun Senator Felix Ovuodoroye Ibru.

Makinde described the late Ibru as a nation-builder and man of peace in a statement on Friday by Comrade Owen Oghenero, his media aide.

“It is with profound sadness that we learned of the death of Olorogun Senator Felix Ovuodoroye Ibru, the First Civilian Governor of Delta State,” Olorogun Makinde said, while recalling that the late Ibru was former President­General of the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU).

Part of the statement reads: “On behalf of the Board and Staff of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), I convey our deepest condolences to the Ibru Family and our dear governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, and all of those who loved Olorogun Senator Felix Ibru dearly.

“He contributed greatly to the development of Delta State in his time as the first civilian governor. Olorogun Senator Felix Ovuodoroye Ibru represented what was best about Delta State.
“He expressed his deep pride in the foundation laying of our dear state that we Deltans build on today. He has been taken from us, but his legacy endures.”

Makinde joined the Ibru family, the government of Delta State, friends, and political associates across the globe in mourning “the exit of a political icon who dedicated his life in selfless service to his nation and to humanity.”
