A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Isiala Ngwa South Council Area of Abia State, Chief Izuwa Nwogu has foreclosed any opposition against any plan and attempt to challenge Governor Okezie Ikpeazu when he completes his first tenure in 2019.
Speaking during the inauguration of his political structure Friday at his coumtry home at Mgboko in Isiala Ngwa South Council of the State, Chief Nwogu reaffirmed his support the administration of Governor Ikpeazu.
He disclosed that the purpose of setting up the political structure was not to challenge the governor but to rally support for Dr ikpeazu.
“My greatest desire is to support the government of Dr Okezie Ikeazu so that what ever idea I have, that I even desire to use for my government after his reign, my greatest desire is to give him my support to make sure that he builds a beautiful State called Abia State, I want a situation whereby, the State will have peace and enjoy prosperity, I want a situation where every body in the State will know that the State is important so that no individual will not feel that nobody is not important, therefore,
“ I am saying that every person should forget about their political party and give the present government support with my support and the support of everyone in the State, then we can be sure of the prosperous Abia State.
On his future political aspiration, he disclosed “What matters is not contesting election but the goods to offer to the people, if you have food in your house people will come to eat, definitely people will come to eat, this simply means that without any doubt in my heart, in the next eight years I am very sure that by the grace of God, I will be the next governor after Dr. Okezie Ikeazu, all I want to do is to do what I can do at this time is to make sure that I build a structure within all the seventeen local government areas of the State and see how I can work closely with the government to bring development of roads , make sure that our youths are financially empowered so that crime can reduce in our State, then prosperity can be the order of the day
On the political party he inteds to hing his support to, Nwogu revealed “Political parties comes and they go, the major thing is that the people remain, I believe in individuality than in personality, I believe in a man that people love, what matters to me is not the political party but the progress of the people in our State. Over the years in the State it has been party issue but I want to bring this to an end or introduce it to an end, what matters is the people”.
