Ata Igala Bemoans Minister Of State Slot For Igala.

The paramount ruler of Igala kingdom HRM Micheal Idakwo Ameh Oboni 11 has decried the Minister of state position always slated for Igala sons and daughters whenever ministerial positions were being distributed , saying the kingdom has contributed enough to deserve its rightful position in the Nigeria economy.

He added that being the Ninth position in the country by the 1963 census ought to have more share of the national patrimony than what it is presently getting, lamenting at the perpetual minister of state zoned to the Igala kingdom.

The Ata Igala disclosed this yesterday at his palace at Idah when he marked third years anniversary of his ascension to the throne of Ata Igala and the president kogi state traditional council.

The paramount ruler disclosed that the balcanisation of Igala kindom by the colonial government which stressed to present Enugu, Anambra, Edo and Delta states was responsible for its backwardness, advised the present government of president Muhammadu Buhari to redress the injustice done to the kingdom.

He added that the vicious movement of Igala kingdom from kwara to Benue and to kogi state was a distortion to the unity and development of the people stressed that his people deserved better treatment from the Nigeria enterprise.

While recalling from 1982 when Dr. Abubakar Usman was appointed minister of state for Foreign Affairs to the late Barrister Ocholi James, Minister of state for Labour, Employment and productivity all other ministers from Igala kingdom have been on assistant position, said through out the political history of the country Igala has had only three ambassadorial positions.

The Monarch therefore called on the president Muhammed Buhari and the APC to as a matter of urgency redress the ugly situation by appointing an Igala son or daughter to a substantive ministerial position.

Ata however urged the Igala people and the entire people of the state to support government of president Muhammadu Buhari and the governor of the state Alhaji Yahaya Bello , saying that by supporting the government that needed dividend of democracy could be delivered to the people.

He thanked the people of Agueleri in Anambra state and Echono in Ibaji LGA for their resolve to maintain peace despite the heated agitation as a fall out of the discovery of oil in the region advised that as brothers they are bound to be disagreement.

” With the show of unity as exhibited by the traditional rulers and the people of Enugu, Anambra and Delta states who grace the occasion is a sign that although brothers will disagree ,they will be quick to resolve themselves” he said..

In his remark, the governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello promised to work assiduously for the upliftment of the igala land, assuring that era of under development and marginalisation would soon be a thing of the past.

He promised to forward the petition of the monarch to the presidency, stressing that he will not support the marginalisation of any part of the state.
