The Shehu of Borno has appealed to the Federal Government to provide adequate and effective security in the liberated towns of Borno State.
Mallam Abubakar Garbato noted that the effective security would enable all the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to return to their original places of abode.
At a meeting with the Chief of Air Staff on Saturday in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, the Shehu said that over two million IDPs in the state were prepared to go back to their homes to enable them prepare for the farming season.
He maintained that Borno kingdom, which had been in existence for over 1,200 years, had never been conquered by any group and Boko Haram insurgents would not be the first.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, who visited the troops, assured the people of Borno of the government’s preparedness to restore peace in Borno State and the entire northeast region.
Air Marshal Abubakar announced that the Nigerian Air Force was exploring the possibility of expanding the Air Force group in Borno State to ensure the total restoration of peace in the state.
