Izon-Ibe Global Policy Network, (IGPN), a Pan Ijaw group, has given kudos to the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta and Amnesty Programme, General Paul Boroh for eliminating corruption from the programme which had hitherto hampered the development of the oil producing areas of the country.
President of IGPN, Hon Ogidigba Godstime, in a statement however called on President Muhammadu Buhari to ignore calls by some persons to sack the Army General who he said has been doing a great job to give the programme a humn face, noting that those behind such calls are enemy of the South-South Region.
They noted that as keen watchers of events in the Niger Delta, the amnesty programme under the watch of Gen. Boroh have lived up to it bidding and urged the people to support him to see the programme through to the promise land under Buhari’s administration .
According to the group,”We are impressed with how far Boroh has eliminated corruption from the management of the amnesty programme and therefore not surprised that corruption is trying desperately to fight back as the programme is no longer business as usual”
“We therefore advice President Muhammadu to damn all agitators against Gen. Boroh and treat them as enemies of progress and apostles of Corruption”
“We also appeal to all stakeholders in Niger Delta to co-operate with Boroh in his effort at restoring sanity and discipline to the Niger Delta region for the overall prosperity of Nigeria”
