BUDGET: Group Commends NASS

A group, Society for Advancement of Credible Leadership (SOACREL), has commended the National Assembly for the passage of the 2016 budget “after all the controversies arising from missing budget to budget padding.”

In a statement signed by its Director General (DG), Johnny Ebikeseye, SOACREL stated that “the National Assembly should ensure effective legislative over sighting of the budget for proper implementation.

“The Federal Government should also move quickly to implement the budget as Nigerians have passed through though times owing to the delay in the passage of the budget which brought about economic hardship to Nigerians.

“So that economic activities will bounce back when moneys will be injected into the system through the award of contracts and many construction companies will return to site to continue where they stopped.”

On the ongoing recruitment exercise in the police, the group charged the government to ensure even distribution of the slots to all parts of the country and also that only qualified and genuine candidates should be employed for quality and effective policing.

According to SOACREL “Nigerians are again subjected to another economic hardship arising from the long fuel crisis, we urge the federal government to quickly resolve the problems bedeviling the petroleum sector and make the products available for Nigerians in other to cushion the effects.”

It commended the Federal Government for the victory over the Boko Haram insurgency so far, but however call on the federal Government to work harder to cub the pockets of attacks in different parts of the country and guarantee security to Nigerians.
