…Enyimba Remain Unshaken, Says Captain
Faouzi Benzarti, Coach of Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia, has said the CAF Confederation Cup holders would spill blood against Enyimba on Tuesday in the second leg of the final qualifying round of the CAF Champions League in Tunisia.
Speaking on Tuesday ahead of the decisive match, Benzarti said his side has been pegged back and needed to rebound with a commanding performance against the two-time winners, who beat the Tunisians 3-0 in Port Harcourt on Sunday.
“We will give it our all and see how it goes,” he said. “I know Enyimba are a good side but we will spill our blood to get over them in Tunisia.”
Speaking on the Port Harcourt match, which has condemned Etoile to a possible early exit from the competition, the former Egyptian international said his team was rattled by the early goal from Mfon Udoh.
“The early goal did not help our cause. After we went down, my players tried to come back but we were also hit back again early in the second half.
“But that was the strength of our opponent; we will try to see how we can turn the table against them here,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chinedu Udorji, Enyimba captain, while speaking to Independent, said the Peoples Elephant is focused ahead of the match in Sousse. He said Enyimba would approach the second leg as if it lost the first leg.
“The job is not done yet. We are going to Tunisia to finish the job. Our players are focused ahead of the match, even though we have a league match before then,” he said.
