Shuaibu Amodu, a member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Committee, has charged Nigerians to unite for Nigeria’s FIFA World Cup 2018 aspirations.
Amodu was speaking on Tuesday on the backdrop of the lingering crisis rocking the NFF following a Jos, Plateau State, court ruling, which sacked the current board of the football body led by Amaju Pinnick.
“We are not even sure of whom we are going to play in the World Cup qualifiers and here we are talking about the issues at the NFF,” he said.
“We should not give trouble any room as Super Eagles have failed to reach the next Cup of Nations. We should unite to ensure that adequate preparation is provided when the draws for the World Cup are made.
“If we continue like this, we will jeopardize the chances of Nigeria qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia and I think many Nigerians will not like the national team to miss the World Cup after the Cup of Nations miss,” he admonished.
