Heartland Gets Okpus’ Boost Ahead Sunshine clash

Brownbraye Okpus, Heartland defender, says he is 100 percent fit for the week 13 clash against Sunshine Stars on Sunday at the Dan Anyiam Stadium in Owerri.

The Naze Millionaires strongman was missed in the side’s 1-2 loss to Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) in Ibadan due to a shoulder injury in an earlier match against Rivers United.

Okpus said he was quite excited to have recovered in time for the must-win-clash against the Owena Waves on Sunday.

“I’m 100 percent fit and hope to play against Sunshine Stars.

“I was fit for the 3SC match but the team doctor insisted that I should rest for at least one more week.

“I’m excited to have been given a clean bill of health to start against Sunshine Stars.

“The defeat at 3SC was painful, but we have forgotten that result.

“Right now, our focus is on the match against Sunshine Stars and our target is to claim the three points.

“Sunshine Stars is a good side which denied us the three points last season in Owerri, but we have told ourselves that there would not be a repeat this time around.

“Football is a mind game and we have resolved to get it right against Sunshine Stars as well as take this mentality to the other matches on the season’s calendar,” Okpus said.

Heartland has 14 points in the kitty from a possible 36 in the 12-week-old top flight with a game to spare against Enyimba.
