The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETfund), has released the sum of N450 million naira to the Kogi state polytechnic for the establishment of School of Agriculture to be located at Osara campus of of the institution.
The Rector of the institution, Alhaji Isa Muhammed disclosed this yesterday while matriculating about 3,110 new students of the institution.
He added that the amount was meant for the establishment of School of Agriculture at Osara campus of the institution.
The Rector who commended TETfund for its various interventions in the developmental strides of the polytechnic added that these can be seen physically everywhere on the campuses.
He posited that a lot has been done in recent times as most of these facilities have been completed while many others are in the process of being completed.
The Rector therefore warned that any student or group of students who constitute themselves into a body that terrorizes. Harasses or intimidates other law abiding students for whatever reasons will be seriously death with.
“Any one caught in such despicable acts will be summarily expelled because the Polytechnic has zero tolerance for indiscipline. By extension, examination malpractice, drug addiction, fighting, theft, indecent dressing and above all, cultism will be met with the most severe punishment” he warned.
According to him, the students will be prepared to take their rightful places in nation building, social emancipation and national development as he hoped that they will be able to contribute their quota in scientific investigation through positive and articulate academic programmed.
He emphasized that the Management of the institution and the State Government, have provided various facilities on the campuses for their benefits.
