As Controversy trails LMC’s league log

The league log released by the League Management Committee (LMC) after the Week 23 round of matches at the weekend has been generating controversies with many league analysts, writers and fans expressing shock at the placing of teams.

“LMC’s official log standings after Week 23 matches leave me in shock. El Kanemi in top three, 3SC in bottom three,” a popular TV soccer analyst said incredulously.

According to popular standings with league writers, El – Kanemi is placed seventh and not third while 3SC is 17th, just a place above relegation zone.

In the full log, Kano Pillars leads with 39points followed by Warri Wolves with 37points and Dolphins with 36. Enyimba is fourth on 36points, Bayelsa United fifth with 36points and Kwara United is sixth with 35points. El Kanemi Warriors is seventh with 35points while Gombe United and Enugu Rangers are on 34 and 33 points respectively in the eighth and ninth position.

Kaduna United is tenth with 32 points while Nembe City and Heartland are on 32 and 31 in the 11th and 12th positions. Sunshine Stars is 13th also with 31points while ABS and Lobi Stars are tied on 29points in the 14th and 15th slots but ABS is ranked higher on goals difference.

Nasarawa United is sixteenth with 29 points while Shooting Stars is 17th with 27 and Akwa United is 18th with 27 points too. Sharks is 19th with 27 points also and Wikki Tourists wallows at the bottom of the table with 27 points as well as Sharks but poorer goals difference.

But on the LMC’s log, Dolphins is fourth, Enyimba seventh and El-Kanemi third.
