Amadu, Bassey disagree over Eaglets

Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Committee member,  Paul Bassey has described Golden Eaglets 4-1 win over Iran as horrible, even as NFF scribe, Musa Amadu expresses satisfaction with the team’s performance.

Bassey said it was the team’s worst display since the start of the competition holding in the United Arab Emirates.

“I think it was our worst display so far and I am about to be convinced with their play. I don’t know what strategy they used although we won, I thought that they exposed themselves to too many injuries”

“They were too compact with their passes and the sore point was losing Iheanacho but I hope that he will be ready for the next match against Uruguay”

Nonetheless, Bassey stated that he still expects Eaglets to reach the final of the competition.

But Amadu expressed contrary opinion, praising the team for the win. He attributed the team’s victory to its excellent cohesion which was as a result of adequate preparation at the instance of the NFF.

“They have been able to show their Nigerian spirit in their game against Iran, which was truly a very good game. We always expect the best from the lads given the fact that they have been together for two years  preparing and playing friendly games.”
